I HAD NO IDEA WHAT WAS COMING...
2014
I was always a big fan of chewing gum. In fact, I chewed gum every single day & there's no denying that even regular gum slightly improved my jawline, but this took YEARS of consistent chewing. On my morning walks to college, I noticed a very intriguing connection between chewing gum and my jaw muscles. I quickly learned that the more gum I chewed, the bigger my masseter muscles grew, and I got many compliments about how sharp my jawline was...
THE HIATUS & EUREKA MOMENT
2015-2020
A lot changed. I graduated in Economics, applied to 200+ jobs...to end up getting zero offers. I also had dabbled in several failed business ventures at this point. This was my eureka moment, I had the time to revisit the thought 'what if chewing gum can be tough?' - yes, that's the original screenshot from my notes app. My simple logic was: I love chewing gum & I learned in 2014 that it grew my jaw muscles - so why not find a solution for everyone? After surfing the web for hours, a product like this did not exist, however, I did stumble across something very interesting.....
THE STROKE OF LUCK & ORIGIN
2020
...It was called mastic gum. I had never heard of it before - in fact, most people wouldn't have. It was chewed by cavemen & so everything began to click with the idea I had originally written down in my notes app. In August 2020, the first ever unit of ROCKJAW mastic gum was born - it was nothing fancy, with a logo borrowed from the internet & a cheap sticker. In September, ROCKJAW soft-launched & got it's first sale on eBay! It was a pivotal moment - something that I created sold! I decided at this very moment to dedicate all of my efforts to create the best functional chewing gum in the world.
INNOVATION & MILESTONES
2021-2022
From 2021 to 2022, I continued to make a lot of improvements - and progress. We sold to the biggest MMA fighters, CEOs, YouTubers & podcasters in the world. I finally ditched the generic logo borrowed from the internet and introduced three new products. But I didn't want to stop there...
A PARADIGM SHIFT
2023
In 2022, something monumental occurred. My dream of creating a hard chewing gum from scratch finally became a reality. I developed a tough chewing gum in the same format as regular gum. After almost a year of development, I released the first version of Tuff Gum in January of 2023 - there was a terrible printing error (the first pouch) that was a tough pill to swallow, but looking back - it was hilarious! Despite looking hideous, it sold out within the first 2 months...
CONTINUING ON
2024/25
A new products released, shortlisted for a large business award, & made significant improvements to all products. In 2025, we rolled out new packaging & polished up all of our products. As of December 2025, we sold out Tuff Gum in just one week!
