Can A Gua Sha Help You Get A Sharper Jawline?

Jawlines are extremely important to your overall look.

And, when we say "jawline," we're not referring to just the top of your face. We're talking about the entire area from your ear to your chin.

The good news is that there are a number of ways you can get a sharper jawline naturally.

Introduction to Gua Sha

The Gua Sha tool is an ancient therapy that has been used for thousands of years in China. It's said to have originated with the Shang Dynasty, which was around 1766BC - 1046BC.

The term Gua Sha is actually two Chinese characters, "guan" meaning "scraping" and "sha" meaning "to scrape". This translates to scraping the skin. It's been used in Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) for thousands of years as an effective means of treating many health conditions including skin problems like acne, eczema and psoriasis.

How It Works

The treatment involves applying pressure to specific points on the body, which stimulates blood flow and helps release toxins from your body. It's also claimed that it can help improve your skin texture and reduce fine lines as well as giving you a sharper jawline.

Effectiveness for Jawline

When combined with exercise or weight loss, Gua Sha has been shown to be an effective way to lose weight by removing fatty deposits under the skin (subcutaneous fat).

This results in a sharper jawline by making your face appear thinner by removing excess fat around the cheeks and chin area.

A study published in Planta Medica found that using Gua Sha on obese patients significantly reduced fat deposits on their faces after just one month of treatment.

Is it Worth It?

It's possible to get a sharper-looking jawline with a gua sha tool, but it's not that easy, it hurts like hell (but it's only temporary). It takes time for results to show up (it could take weeks or months before you see any changes).

And there are no scientific studies supporting its benefits (which means you might be wasting your money).
